The AcuDart kit instructions can be found here.

Tick-borne diseases like Lyme disease, Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever (TBRF), Babesiosis, and Bartonellosis share overlapping symptoms, making diagnosis difficult without comprehensive testing. Because these infections can mimic each other, relying on a single test for one disease may lead to missed or delayed diagnoses. That’s why AcuDart offers the most accurate and reliable tick-borne disease testing available.

Unlike standard tests from commercial labs like LabCorp or Quest, which typically screen for just one or two species per disease, the AcuDart Tick-Borne Disease Test Panel is designed for maximum accuracy and coverage. It detects 19 species across four major tick-borne diseases, making it the most comprehensive tick panel on the market. Whether you're experiencing persistent symptoms or have been exposed to ticks, AcuDart's tick-borne disease panel provides the most thorough and precise testing to help you get the right diagnosis and treatment faster.

AcuDart Stands Tall

AcuDart tests are among the most accurate available for detecting major tick-borne illnesses. With a sensitivity of just above 83%, AcuDart outperforms standard methods such as PCR and the ELISA/Western blot two-tier testing protocol, which is recommended by the CDC and widely used by commercial laboratories. Unlike other tick testing kits, AcuDart’s advanced approach ensures greater accuracy and reliability, even in cases where symptoms are unclear or infections are in early stages. AcuDart also surpasses specialty labs that focus exclusively on tick-borne disease testing, offering a superior level of precision and ease of access.

The only tests with a higher sensitivity than AcuDart are the ImmunoBlots from IGeneX. However, IGeneX tests are more expensive and require physician authorization, making them less accessible to individuals seeking direct, at-home solutions. AcuDart’s tick panel blood test provides a comprehensive, convenient, and highly accurate alternative, helping users detect infections earlier and with greater confidence.

Collecting Your Blood

All we need are a few drops.

That's right! A few drops of blood is all we need to test for nine species of Lyme causing Borrelia. Our sample collection card is an alternative collection method, similar to an SST tube. Red blood cells are separated without a centrifuge, enabling the laboratory to perform tests on dry blood.

Is this methodology accurate? Yes! The test results have been cross-validated against standard finger prick and venous draws.

B. burgdorferi B31

The B31 strain is the most well-known and extensively researched strain of B. burgdorferi.

B. afzelii

Borrelia afzelii is common in Europe. It is transmitted primarily by Ixodes ricinus ticks.

B. garinii

Borrelia garinii is common in Europe and Asia. Ixodes ricinus ticks are the primary vectors.

B. californiensis

Borrelia californiensis is a species of bacteria that was discovered in 2007.

B. spielmanii

Borrelia spielmanii was first isolated in 1993 in the Netherlands.

B. valaisiana

Borrelia valaisiana is common in Central Europe and can cause neuroborreliosis.

B. burgdorferi 297

Borrelia burgdorferi 297 is a human cerebrospinal fluid isolate and is a commonly used strain for studying ospC expression.

B. mayonii

Borrelia mayonii was first identified in a Minnesota resident in 2013. It can cause nausea, vomiting, and large, widespread rashes.

B. bissettii

Borrelia bissettii has been reported in patients in Europe. It can also be found in woodrats that are infected with B. burgdorferi s.s.

AcuDart tests detect antibodies to multiple species of TBRF Borrelia.

B. hermsii

The most common cause of TBRF is B. hermsii. It is spread by the soft-bodied tick Ornithodoros hermsi.

B. miyamotoi

B. miyamotoi can infect humans through the bite of several species of hard-shell Ixodes ticks, the same kind of ticks that spread B. burgdorferi, the causative bacterium of Lyme disease.

B. parkeri

B. parkeri is a relapsing fever agent that causes human infection. B. parkeri strain HR1 was isolated from Ornithodoros parkeri ticks.

B. turicatae

B. turicatae is a spirochete that causes TBRF in the tropics and subtropics of the United States. It is the primary cause of TBRF in the southwestern United States and is transmitted by the vector, Ornithodoros turicata.

AcuDart tests detect antibodies to multiple species of Babesia.

B. microti

B. microti is the main cause of  babesiosis, a malaria-like disease which also causes fever and hemolysis.

B. duncani

Human babesiosis caused by B. duncani has been associated with high parasite burden, severe pathology and death in multiple cases.

AcuDart tests detect antibodies to multiple species of Bartonella.

B. henselae

B. henselae is a bacterium that causes cat scratch disease (CSD), also known as cat scratch fever.

B. quintana

B. quintana infection is most commonly associated with body louse infestations in areas of high population density and poor sanitation.

B. elizabethae

B. elizabethae causes disease in both humans and animals. Most commonly, it causes endocarditis, or inflammation of the inner layer of the heart tissue.

B. vinsonii

B. vinsonii is a gram-negative bacteria that can infect mammals, including dogs and cats. It can cause a variety of diseases in dogs.

What does the Tick-Borne Disease Test Panel detect, and how reliable is it?

The Tick-Borne Disease Test Panel detects antibodies to multiple pathogens responsible for Lyme disease, Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever (TBRF), Babesiosis, and Bartonellosis. As a comprehensive tick-borne panel, it utilizes advanced recombinant protein technology to achieve high sensitivity and specificity, ensuring reliable and accurate detection of these diseases.

AcuDart tests are among the most accurate available, with a sensitivity of just above 83%, significantly higher than the PCR and the ELISA/Western blot (57.6%) testing protocol recommended by the CDC. This tick-borne illness panel provides a more thorough and precise alternative to standard commercial lab tests, helping individuals detect infections with greater confidence.

Does insurance cover Tick-Borne Disease testing?

Currently, insurance does not cover the cost of the Tick-Borne Disease Test Panel. We do not accept FSA/HSA at this time. We work to keep our tests as competitively priced as possible, and our test costs are generally lower than the costs incurred from a trip to a healthcare provider.

Who should consider Tick-Borne Disease testing, and can it detect co-infections

This test is recommended for anyone exposed to tick-prone environments, exhibiting symptoms of tick-borne diseases, or seeking a comprehensive diagnostic for co-infections. The panel is specifically designed to detect multiple infections from a single sample, making it ideal for individuals with complex or overlapping symptoms.

What sample is required for Tick-Borne Disease testing, and how do I collect it properly?

A small blood sample, collected via a simple finger prick, is required for this test. The kit includes step-by-step instructions and all necessary tools for safe and easy at-home sample collection.

What do the results mean, and what should I do if I test positive for a Tick-Borne Disease?

- Positive Result: Indicates the presence of antibodies to one or more tick-borne diseases, suggesting past or current exposure. Consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation and treatment options.

- Negative Result: Suggests no detectable antibodies at the time of testing, but early-stage infections or low antibody levels may require follow-up testing if symptoms persist.

How long does it take to get results?

Results are typically available within 3-5 business days (digitally) after the lab receives your sample. You will be notified via a secure portal when your results are ready to view.

I received the test quickly and activated it without any problems. The actual test was easy and dropped off at the post office. I’m hoping this might give me some long needed answers. The coupon was what helped me decide to spend the money for this test.

Great Test

Highly recommended this test to anyone who is experiencing symptoms. The tick-borne panel is the ONLY way to go. If I had not taken the full panel, I would never had known I had Bartonella. Originally, I had a suspicion I was experiencing Lyme.

Easy process, all materials are given, and great instructions step by step. Took about 5 minutes — give or take your flow of blood. I had my results by four business days.

This test gave me the answer when no doctor could!

I started getting "sick" around November 2024. I felt like every day was something new and whatever this mystery illness was, it was progressing. I was at my worst from about mid January to mid February. I had four MRIs to rule out MS and any other spine issues because a lot of my symptoms were neurological. I also had a ton of blood work as well as a standard Lyme test done by LabCorp. Everything came back clear. In 2019, I had a tick on me and got "sick" a few weeks after and no explanation as to why. I also requested a Lyme test then, which came back negative. I saw a TikTok about Lyme testing which brought me to this company. I ordered this test on a Wednesday afternoon, and it arrived to my house the following Tuesday. The instructions were super easy to follow. You will register your kit online do your own finger prick and drop the blood samples on a special card. I packaged the sample up as directed and dropped it off at my local post office the next morning with the prepaid label. I would recommend taking it inside to have it scanned so that you can track it instead of dropping it into the box. I dropped the sample off on a Wednesday morning and received my results through my email the following week on a Thursday. The total amount of time for me on the process was two weeks and a day....from ordering the sample to getting my results. It turns out I was positive for one of the bacteria, and I had been living with this for almost 6 years! During these years, I had been to several specialists trying to figure out other symptoms to include EXTREME fatigue, still with no answers. I sent my results to my doctor. He has now tested me specifically for this bacteria to get a more detailed break-down of it since this test does not offer that. That did not bother me because it got my doctor and me to a starting point. I cannot express my gratitude enough. This test quite possible could have saved my life! Thank you AcuDart!
