What are Tick-Borne Diseases?

Tick-borne diseases (TBDs) are transmitted through the bite of an infected tick. Lyme disease, the most prevalent TBD, is one of the fastest-growing infectious diseases in the United States, affecting nearly 500,000 people annually across all 50 states. Other common TBDs include Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever, Bartonellosis, Babesiosis, and Rickettsiosis.

Why test for Tick-Borne Diseases?

Diagnosis of a TBD based on clinical grounds is very challenging because symptoms of a TBD can mimic many other diseases. These diseases can also affect any organ of the body, including the brain and nervous system, muscles and joints, and the heart. AcuDart tests are currently available to residents in all states except New York.

Once your order is complete, your package will be shipped out of our fulfillment warehouse within 1 business day and you will receive your order within 2-8 business days. Once your sample reaches the lab, they will begin processing the sample. Typically, you will see your results within 1-3 business days of the lab having started the processing stage.

The sensitivity of the AcuDart Lyme disease test is approximately 93%. This is far higher than other similar tests because it detects more pathogens and uses a newer testing technique involving recombinant antigens.
